Mrs. Suman Nijhawan
Principal cum Regional Director
Mrs. SumanNijhawan is a dynamic personality. She is a source of inspiration to all those who want to do something different in difficult situation. Her zest and strong will to accomplish a dream led her to join DAV Public School, Kaithal in 1984 as a founder Principal. There were many hardships in the initial years but her strong will power and determination overcame them.
At present, she is running school with its three separate buildings- Nsy block, Primary block, Senior Secondary block successfully. The school has the strength of around 5000 students. Apart from good infrastructure, she has taken pains to bring latest methodology of teaching in this semi-rural area. As a result this is the only institution in this area which has produced not only Good Human beings but has given Good Professionals to the society. Under her superb guidance, the school has won lot many State and National achievements.
Even, in the social service her name is not behind. Eight years back under her supervision the school started ‘ProjectUdaan’ to provide free education to economically weak children. They were provided with books, uniform, transport, refreshment and were brought up to the level of class V and were admitted in govt. school.
She is in real sense, a true human being, whose heart is filled with the milk of kindness, whenever there are natural disasters at National level whether it is flood, earthquake, tsunami, she is always ahead in serving the community by extending full help with kind or cash.
Mrs. SumanNijhawan is really a Diva as she has brought many achievements and laurels in the field of education. Her contribution is always recognized by DAV Managing Committee, New Delhi; Distt. Administration of Kaithal, Social organizations, Parents and Public and above all the State Government.
AWARDS AND HONOURS RECEIVED:
1. NATIONAL LEVEL:-
· DAV-CMC and Arya Pardeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi honoured her for unmatched contribution towards Arya Samaj and education on 23.4.1995 and Award was given by Sh. R.L. Bhatia, Former Foreign Minister of India.
· DAV Managing Committee , New Delhi and Arya PradeshikPratinidhiSabha in April 2006 honoured her for meritorious services towards education and Arya Samaj award given by Mrs. Sheela Dixit( CM, Delhi)
· Honoured by DAV institute of Management for Achievements in Academics in AISSC Examination, CBSE-New Delhi in 2007.
· RashtriyaSamtaSwantantraManch( India) honoured on 16th October,2008 by awarding SAMRASTA UTSAHAVARDHAN SAMMAAN “SHIKSHAK SHRI SAMMAAN” for serving the society by providing the best education in the area
2. State level:-
· Honoured on Republic Day 26.1.2011 for providing meritorious Servicesin the field of education in the year 2010-11 and the award was given by Hon’ble Chief Minster Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
· Honoured on Republic Day 26.1.2002 for providing best education in the district and appreciated for bringing laurels to the district by securing 2nd position in inter-state cultural and dance show at National Level which was hosted by GOVT. OF HARYANA.
· Awarded and Honoured by hon’ble Governor Sh. JaganntahPahadia and Chief Minister Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda in the field of Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides on 6.8.2013
3. DISTRICT LEVEL:-
· Five times honoured by District Administration for providing best education, for extending full co-operation in making LITERACY MISSION successful and for being the Best Principal of the district.
4. SOCIAL ORGANISATIONS:-
· Seven times honoured by ‘ AVANTIKA’, Delhi for contribution in Nation Building, Social Service, Environment Preservation And Education in Nov.2004, 14 July 2008, April 2010; Oct.2010, April 2012 and July 2013.
· Bharat Vikas Parishad honoured her on 24th Oct.2010 for providing meritorious services to the cause of education in the District
· Four times Lions Club honoured her for providing invaluable services in the field of Education.
· Rotary Club, Kaithal honoured her on providing Best Education in the District and lending full co-operation in Social Welfare Activities.
· Punjabi Sabha, Kaithal honoured her on Jan12,2012 for providing Best Education in the district.
